32:25km in 2:15:40
Arrived at Striders start this morning to find Dave Criniti, Tony Fattorini, David Tonge, Andy Heyden and few others waiting to start. This was going to be a fast 30k! Ray Wareham had also been spotted jogging nearby.
Tucks says the best way to approach the weekly long run is to progressively pick up the pace, so that's what I tried to do. The group stayed together (except Andy who was running 50k in preparation for the World 100k champs in 4 weeks) and we each took turns on the front. It was great to have a chat with each of the guys and the time went quickly.
Even with a few sub 3:45 kms and 19:28 last 5km, Dave, Fats and Tonge smashed me in last 15mins. They were all in great shape for Six Foot Track last week which was cancelled, so they had spare energy to burn!
Preparation for Gold Coast Marathon is going well. Even with a few days off, it was a 93km week.
