Throat started to feel sore last Sunday which usually means a cold. The last cold took me 8 weeks to get over, so rest was tempting, but training has been going so well. In the end I had instructions from Coach Tiger not to train until today. The cold didn't materialise, but Tiger says rest will help me absorb the great training I've done.
Woke this morning to heavy rain, so wasn't looking forward to 6 x 1km on 5min cycle (@ 3:10/km pace), on my own, in the rain following a few days rest.
Session went to plan (1km effort times were 3:11, 3:10, 3:10, 3:09, 3:10, 3:12). I struggled to find somewhere flat to run even 1km. Dad keeps telling me how hilly it is near him, so I thought I'd post the elevation of the flattest place I could find to run...averaging 1%.
2hr20mins tomorrow, so Sally and I will go to the Striders run in Drummoyne. Hope no one complains I'm 'going too fast' or 'have gone the wrong way', I'm fed up of people with rocks in their heads looking for excuses why they're so slow.
